The SWA were proud to launch their Young People’s Initiative at the start of their 156th Exhibition. 200 guests enjoyed a Champagne Reception with music from Jazz Trio ‘Songbird.’ Rosemary Shrager, famous BBC Chef and Guest of Honour delighted the audience with her tales of early recollections at art college but above all her great love of cooking which she likened to an art form in all that is required in the presentation of dishes to be remembered before being consumed!

The evening was a great success with many sales and some interesting partygoers.

The Society of Women Artists welcomed record breaking visitors when Royal Patron, Her Royal Highness Princess Michael of Kent opened our 156th Annual Summer Exhibition at Mall Galleries London SW1.

This year we hired the Threadneedle Space as well as the main and North Gallery. Sales were up and I’m delighted to say that I sold as well. Here is a pic of President Sue Jelley discussing my works with HRH Princess Michael of Kent.

Great review of the exhibition below by Katherine Tyrell.
“Indeed when I walked in yesterday, the exhibition it reminded me of most was the Threadneedle! I revisited that reaction about an hour into my visit and decided that it definitely looked more Threadneedle than a trad. art society exhibition”.

My review of the annual exhibition of the Society of Women Artists – they’ve come a long way in the last three years.
Exhibition at the Mall Galleries continues until 3pm on Sunday 9th July.
